Lunamax Films seeks to tell stories that awaken new understanding of the world(s) around us.
Holly Meehl Chapman founded Lunamax in 2015 with the goal to guide films from original inception through distribution. Lunamax’s documentary and fiction features, short films, and episodic content have collectively won dozens of awards and launched on premiere platforms such as Hulu and Netflix. In 2020, Holly was selected for the Impact Partners Producing Fellowship and featured on DOC NYC’s 40 Under 40 List. She also is a featured interview on the popular producing platform “Dear Producer.”
Recent credits include the feature documentary, Jacinta (dir. Jessica Earnshaw), which launched to rave reviews at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2020 and picked up the Albert Maysles Best New Documentary Director Award. The film is currently available to stream on Hulu. Through Lunamax, Holly also produced the critically lauded documentary, For the Birds (dir. Richard Miron) as well as the festival favorite romantic comedy, In Reality (dir. Ann Lupo). Holly’s co-producing credits include the 2015 CNBC released feature doc, (Dis)Honesty - The Truth About Lies, (dir. Yael Melamed) and the upcoming Chef Charlie Trotter documentary, Love, Charlie (dir. Rebecca Halpern) to be released by Greenwich Entertainment in November 2022. Holly also worked as a coordinator on the fiction feature, NANCY (dir. Christina Choe), which premiered at Sundance in 2018.
Holly has over a decade of experience in the film industry and prior to Lunamax Films worked for notable companies and filmmakers including distributor Sony Pictures Classics, director Tanya Wexler, and producer/director Yael Melamede at Salty Features.
Holly is currently based in Los Angeles and is originally from Connecticut. She received a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing and Film Studies from Vanderbilt University in 2011.
The name Lunamax comes from the two dogs Holly grew up with, Luna and Max. Holly aspires to channel their energy, curiosity, and spirit as she navigates the world of film. Today, Holly is in good company with her dogs Lucy and Lucho and when not working can be found hiking through Griffith Park in Los Angeles.
